Language Requirements:

Depending on in which language courses are taken, the following proofs of language proficiency are mandatory:

English: TOEFL (iBT) 61, IELTS (academic module) 6.0 or equivalent

Japanese: Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 or higher

Duration: September - August

Programs:

The 'English' spots are not available for majors of Japanese Studies. Please refer to the Institute of Japanese Studies (Japanologie) for further information.

The exchange spot is open for students of International Studies and Business. Courses of the Faculty of Liberal Arts are not available for exchange students. Only students who have never studied in Japan before are eligible to apply. Students have to earn credits at Kinki University for their BA degree at Freie Universität Berlin. They are not eligible if they are in their last semester before graduation while on exchange.

Housing:

Exchange students need to stay at the accommodation arranged by Kindai University and students are required to pay the rent (approx. JPY 320.000/semester) before coming to Japan.

Additional Scholarships:

A JASSO scholarship may be offered for the semester places in the English-speaking Asia program in addition to the tuition waiver.
