Transcript of Records

At the end of your stay abroad, you will receive your Transcript of Records

The transcript is an official document that lists the courses you have attended at the FU (including grades and ECTS points achieved). You can find the most important information and frequently asked questions here.

Transcripts of Records are not issued automatically at the FU, but must be requested by you personally.

At the end of your stay, you will receive an information email explaining who you need to contact for a transcript of records. The process for obtaining a transcript of records will also be explained to you in detail in this email. Please read this information carefully and follow the instructions.

The information emails are usually sent out at the end of January in the winter semester and at the end of June in the summer semester.

No, there is only one transcript of records at the end of the entire exchange programme. If you stay at FUB for two semesters and request a transcript after the first semester, your file will be closed and you will not be able to receive a document about your grades in the second semester, so please do not submit your application until the end of your exchange. Also be aware that we cannot issue temporary transcripts.

There are several options. If your courses are visible via Campus Management, the lecturers can enter your grades into the system. We have access to it. However, if the courses are not in the Campus Management system, you have to ask your lecturers to give you a grade certificate for this course.

We will send out a template with the information email at the end of your stay. However, you can also download the template here: Grade certificate.

Once you have received your certificate, please check that it has been fully filled out. In general, we cannot accept certificates without ECTS details.

No, in most cases, this is not possible. In rare cases, however, it may be possible to reach an agreement with lecturers for additional ECTS. Additional work, such as a presentation or term paper, could possibly lead to you being awarded further ECTS. Please note that in any case you must provide proof BEFORE we create the transcript. Please don’t send us any grade certificates with additional ECTS after the transcript was generated, we will NOT accept them.

First of all, we recommend that you check your last message to your lecturer. Did you provide your full name? Did you mention your FUB student ID number? Did you say what course it is? Also, keep your request short and concise when formulating your request.

However, if your lecturer has not responded back within a reasonable period of time (1-3 weeks, please be patient), you are welcome to contact the Incoming Team about the issue.

No, there is no deadline for the application. However, we strongly recommend that you submit the application no later than 3 months after the end of your studies. The longer it takes to obtain the grades, the more difficult it will be to contact the lecturers.

As soon as your semester abroad is over, the account will be closed. However, not to worry, your lecturers will still be able to submit your grades. We also still have access to the system and can view your grades.

Please find out in advance what the requirements are at your home university. If you would like to do "extra work" afterwards in order to obtain more ECTS or complete a course with a grade, please get in touch with your lecturer. We are not authorized to award grades.
Please note that in any case you must provide proof of grades BEFORE we create the transcript. Please don’t send us any grade certificates with additional grades after the transcript was generated, we will NOT accept them.

Please select the course number 01234 for the "Pre-semester German Course for International Students".

No, please keep an eye on which grades you still have to submit and which will be entered via Campus Management.

Please do not enter your own name, but contact your home university to find out to whom the transcript should be sent.

You can find your matriculation number on your student ID card or in Campus Management.
