For admission to the master's program, applicants must demonstrate the following prerequisites:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or an equivalent professionally qualifying German or foreign university degree that includes at least six semesters of study in psychology. Of the achievements of the qualifying university degree, at least 10 credit points (LP) from the field of statistics, 8 LP from the field of psychological diagnostics and 10 LP from the field of work, organizational and business psychology as well as 5 LP each from two other psychological application subjects must be proven (e.g. clinical psychology and educational psychology) . These achievements must have been completed as part of the qualifying university degree. Additional achievements beyond this will not be counted. Only modules that deal exclusively with the relevant topics count. Proof is provided by means of a currant (Transcript of Records) as well as the corresponding module manual or the corresponding module description. Supplementary information on the performance can be provided in the self-disclosure form (Annex 2). If the Bachelor's degree is not yet available at the time of application, proof must be provided for the application that at least 120 LP in completed modules are available (proof through Transcript of Records) and the Bachelor's thesis has either been registered or already submitted (proof through registered module in Transcript of Records or registration certificate issued by the examination office). If no Bachelor thesis is planned in the course of study, this must also be proven.
  • Proof of language proficiency to the extent of level B 2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) for applicants who have not obtained their university degree at an educational institution where English is the language of instruction. Proof of language proficiency can be provided by various English tests, a school diploma showing a B2 level, and proof of six years of English instruction in school (at secondary level 1 and secondary level 2). You can find more information here.

The form provided in the application process with the information on admission requirements and selection points - the self-disclosure form (Appendix 2) - is a necessary part of the application and must be submitted completely.

For applicants who have obtained their degree at a foreign university or equivalent institution, proof of German language skills at the C1 level must be provided. This can be done by passing the German Language Test for University Admission (DSH) or by providing proof of an equivalent level of proficiency according to the Regulations for the German Language Test for University Admission of Foreign Applicants at Freie Universität Berlin.

Up to 80 selection points can be awarded in the selection process.
Information on the application and selection process can be found here (in German only).

Students do not pay any tuition fees, the university only charges semester fees and contributions each semester.

The research-oriented master's degree program in psychology with a focus on work, organizational and health psychology serves to expand and deepen specialized knowledge in basic psychological disciplines, the application areas of work and organizational psychology as well as health psychology, other psychological application fields and the practice of special psychological research methods and diagnostic skills. Competencies for the analysis, diagnosis, evaluation and design of psychological processes in various fields of practice are taught. In addition, selected aspects of work, organizational and health psychology are deepened in an application-oriented manner.
In the application area of work and organizational psychology, we focus on processes of individual and collective experience and action of people in the work and organizational world as well as in the interaction of work and recreation (e.g. work design, workplace health promotion), on group processes (e.g. cooperation in work groups, leadership, social identity) and organizational processes (e.g. organizational development). The focus is on central concepts and methods of psychological leadership and group research. Interfaces with basic psychological disciplines (especially social psychology) as well as non-psychological disciplines (e.g. business administration) are elaborated.
In the application area of health psychology, health psychology theories, research areas and intervention concepts of evidence-based health promotion in different contexts (e.g. organizations, communities, rehabilitation) are deepened. Interdisciplinary interfaces of health psychology research with other psychological basic (e.g. social psychology, developmental psychology) and application disciplines (e.g. industrial and organizational psychology; behavioral medicine) as well as non-psychological disciplines (e.g. epidemiology, psychosomatics) are elaborated.
