Information about the semester ticket from summer semester 2024 on
The transport ministries of the federal states have reached an agreement. There is a nationwide standardized Germany Semester Ticket for students from the 2024 summer semester on. This means that the current semester ticket will no longer be valid and will be converted into a `Deutschlandsemesterticket´. Information on this can be obtained from the relevant student body on the website of the semester ticket office.
Please note: The Campuscard will no longer serve as a semester ticket and cannot be used as a valid ticket for transportation. However, it is still necessary to validate the campus card in order to have a valid student ID card for the semester.The Germany Semester Ticket will be provided exclusively in digital form as a wallet or web ticket. During a ticket inspection, the digital Germany Semester Ticket must be presented along with a valid official photo ID (e.g., passport; ID card).
Eligible students will receive the Germany Semester Ticket through their ZEDAT portal. By clicking on the Germany Semester Ticket section (Deutschlandsemesterticket) under Services for Students (Dienste für Studierende), they will be redirected to the RIDE app where they can obtain their ticket.

The following persons are not entitled to a Semesterticket / Deutschlandsemesterticket and this is not shown in their semester fees in the self-service-portal:
- Persons enrolled in a continuing education Master´s degree program (Demokratiepädagogische Schulentwicklung und soziale Kompetenzen, Europäisches und Internationales Wirtschafts-, Wettbewerbs- und Regulierungsrecht, Zukunftsforschung, Kinder- und Jugendlichenpsychotherapie)
- Multiple enrollees if Freie Universität is not the first university
