“Coronavirus – Ask the Experts”

Campus.leben -  The online magazine of the Freie Universität presents a new series of interviews with experts from Freie Universität Berlin.

How are the spread of the COVID-19 virus and the efforts to contain it affecting people, social life, and international cooperation? What consequences might it have for society, politics, the economy, science, and culture? In the new series, “Coronavirus – Ask the Experts,” researchers at Freie Universität Berlin share their perspectives on the current situation based on their different professional backgrounds.

The first interview in the series is with Professor Martin Voss, Director of the Disaster Research Unit at Freie Universität Berlin. Researchers there are studying the current situation, consulting with aid organizations, and conducting surveys. Paul Nolte, a professor of modern and contemporary history with the Friedrich Meinecke Institute at Freie Universität Berlin, describes in another interview how the coronavirus crisis is creating a historic rupture and warns against its repercussions.

The interview series is looking at ethical questions and responsibility, commerce and supply chains, threatening and extreme situations, safety and security research, communication and media consumption habits, social standards and work, as well as the situation in the USA and Korea.
