Job description:
The research activities will primarily involve working on the DFG-funded project “Development and application of nanoviscosity probes in advanced FLIM studies on synthetic and native hydrogels in vitro” (CRC 1449-TP A04) in the Bionanointerfaces lab (AG Block, Physical Chemistry). The successful candidate will be introduced to the measurement of fluorescence lifetimes using advanced optical microscopy and will then develop and apply own measurement protocols and data analysis to measure the fluorescence lifetimes of molecular rotors in hydrogels with high spatial resolution. The research work will be carried out within the CRC 1449, so that the successful applicant will be integrated into a dynamic and interdisciplinary research network that provides an established environment for training in state-of-the-art scientific methodology and access to soft skill and career development courses.
Requirements:
Master or diploma degree in chemistry, physics, biochemistry or a related discipline.
Desirable:
- Very good Master's degree or diploma in chemistry, physics, biochemistry or a related discipline
- experience in the application of optical microscopy (especially cofocal microscopy) or the measurement of fluorescence lifetimes
- experience in the quantitative analysis of microscopic data or fluorescence lifetime data
- high motivation for independent scientific work
- very good written and spoken German and English skills
