The research in AG Chen leverages material science with molecular and supramolecular chemistry. The main research themes include: 1) functionalization of 2D materials such as transition metal dichalcogenides and graphene, 2) design and fabrication of 2D heterostructures and hybrids,
and 3) dimension-confined chemistry.

Job description:
Participation and support:
• Exfoliation of 2D materials
• Transfer exfoliated nanosheets to desired substrates
• Quality control and optimization of exfoliation and transfer processes
• Functionalization of the exfoliated nanosheets
• Characterization of the functionalized products
• Analysis and presentation of results
• Documentation of experiments and reports

Desirable:   
• Practical experience in mechanical exfoliation, transfer stage, and other nanofabrication techniques
• Experience in Raman spectroscopy and AFM and other microscopies is an advantage
• Good communication skills in English
• Knowledge of data analysis using excel, origin, MATLAB or other tools
