The planetary geodynamics group led by Prof. Dr. Lena Noack uses computational models to charaterize planetary processes that impact the long-term evolution of the planetary interior coupled to the surface and atmosphere for rocky planets within and beyond the solar system.
The planned position is offered at the Freie Universität Berlin, Institute of Geological Sciences, in Berlin, Germany.
Job description:
Main tasks
- Support in the preparation and implementation of research projects using numerical simulations
- Literature research
- Support with teaching preparation, researching teaching materials and testing tasks
- Visualization and summary of research results
- Scientific documentation and presentation of the working group's results
Secondary tasks
- Support with general tasks of the Planetary Geodynamics working group, preparing scientific experiments for the Long Night of Science, as well as maintaining the working group's website and publication data.
Desirable:
- currently enrolled student in a BSc or MSc curriculum in natural sciences, preferably in planetary sciences
- scientific writing literacy and fluent knowledge of English
- basic computer skills (operating system Windows, Microsoft Office)
- enjoy organizing and working in a team
- the ability to work independently
