The Freigeist Research Group "The International Political Economy is not what it seems: global monetary relations in the age of offshore finance" is headed by Dr Andrea Binder. The group investigates how the offshore system influences the international distribution of power between states and the entanglement of public and private power across borders. The group offers a 2-year fixed-term PostDoc position in salary group 13 TV-L FU, flexible working hours, and a pleasant working environment in Berlin-Dahlem.

Job description:
• Implementation of an independent PostDoc project in the field of offshore finance and geopolitics.
• Collaboration in the overall work of the research group, including research as well as organisational and administrative tasks.
• If desired, there is the possibility to teach.

Requirements:
• University degree (Master's degree, university diploma or equivalent)
• Completed doctorate in a political, economic or social science subject.

Desirable:
• Special interest in and knowledge of offshore finance, as evidenced by relevant publications.
• Very good university degree
• Very good doctoral degree
• Excellent English language skills
• Excellent qualitative and/or quantitative methodological skills
• Interest in research at the interface of political science, economic history, and financial sociology
• First publications in high-ranking international peer-reviewed journals
• An independent research agenda in the field of offshore finance
• Initiative, communication and teamwork skills
• Basic knowledge of German desirable, but not required
