The position (postdoc) is located in the employment relations (Personalpolitik) group in the Department of Management at the School of Business & Economics. The research of the group uses organizational and institutional theory to address questions with relevance to the impact and role of organizations in society (e.g., sustainability, inequality, corporate governance, democracy), often from a cross-nationally comparative perspective. We work with both qualitative and quantitative empirical methods with a particular focus on the social and political context of organizations. Our teaching is grounded in theory and research-oriented while at the same time relevant for practice. The research group offers an intercultural, open-minded, versatile and family-friendly working environment.

Job description:
Develop and implement an independent research project which is related to civil society organizations
• Publish research findings in peer-review journals and present at conferences
• Collaborate with team members, participate in group meetings and seminars
• Teaching in BSc and MSc modules using a case study approach
• Participation in the academic self-administration of the Department
• The position is intended for personal scientific qualification

Requirements:
• University degree (MSc, etc) in social science (e.g., sociology, political science, social policy, business, economics, etc.)
• Completed doctoral degree in relevant social science fields

(Professional) Experience:

• Very good track-record of research and publication activities in relevant social sciences
• International experience, such as working abroad, conducting research overseas, or having relevant work experience in international teams
• Experience in English-language teaching in the fields of management and organization
• Profound knowledge of qualitative research methods
• Excellent command of spoken and written scientific communication in English

Desirable:
• Interest in one or more of the following subject areas: civil society organizations, political culture, cross-national comparison (inc. Global South), institutional theory, gender and diversity
• Ability to work in teams with a high degree of responsibility and independence
• Interest in collaborating and high motivation for scientific qualification
