The workload of the course equals 150 hours: attendance 30 hours, preparation and wrap-up 60 hours, Hausarbeit (3500 words) 60 hours.

Participants are expected to have good knowledge of Akkadian and Late Babylonian cuneiform. The course will be taught in English.
Kommentar
The course offers an introduction to the astrology of the Late Babylonian period (5th–1st cent BCE), and to its context in astral science and culture of Mesopotamia. The types of Late Babylonian astrological texts together with their main elements will be introduced, and a selection of cuneiform tablets will be read.
