Docents:

Prof. Dr. Monika Hilker: monika.hilker@fu-berlin.de,
Dr. Andreas Reinecke: andreas.reinecke@fu-berlin.de

Contents:
Complementary to the practical training, working hypotheses, results obtained in the practical part of this module and methods of statistical analyses will be discussed. Chemical mediation of plant – animal interactions will be also discussed with respect to their ecological and economic relevance. Furthermore, the presentation of scientific data will be practised. In addition, we will discuss scientific publications addressing plant – animal interactions. Students will present a current scientific paper and practise critical analyses of studies.

Qualification objectives:
Students will gain knowledge on current research topics in the field of chemically mediated plant – animal interactions and their molecular basis. Techniques to analyse complex ecological relationships will be another focus. Students learn to apply analytical as well as behavioural methods and to analyse the resulting data. This master module will qualify students to develop experimental concepts addressing current ecological research questions and to analyse resulting scientific data. Futhermore, they will deepen their skills to present scientific data in a coherent way and to critically discuss them.. Schließen
