Günes Dasli
Kommentar
This seminar focuses on transitional justice (TJ) as a response to gross human rights violations in wars and conflicts with a specific focus on the MENA region. It aims to explain judicial and non-judicial mechanisms of transitional justice (TJ) and covers four main pillars: Prosecution, truth commissions, reparations and institutional reform.
Two guest lecturers will take part of the seminar in person. One is an activist academic from the Kurdish women’s Movement who will talk about her personal and academic experience on gender justice. The other guest is an expert on the Yezidis Genocide who will talk about her close work with the Yezidis survivors in Iraq.
After introduction to transitional justice, seminar provides the up-to-date debates in relatively young field.
