Kommentar
This course provides students with an introduction to the foundational theories and concepts of network analysis in the context of online political communication research. Through a combination of lectures, seminars, student presentations, and group discussions, students will acquire the essential knowledge and tools needed to analyze and interpret political communication networks. Focusing on critical analysis of empirical work, the course actively engages students with current literature and debates. As a key component of the seminar, students will collaborate on a group project that delves into a real-world example of the German Twittersphere, allowing them to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting. Note: this seminar is intended to be followed by the course Networks in Online Political Communication: Application , and we highly recommend taking both together to achieve the intended learning objectives.
