The course brings together current analyses of political issues in selected political systems of Africa. The topics for discussion will be determined by participating students and will cover key themes including political elites and the state in Africa, political institutions and how they respond to current contestations, the politics of rural development, and urban politics.
Participants learn to understand and analyse current problems against their historical, political and social background. They also learn how to work with different sources (academic literature, media reports etc) and search for relevant literature. Schließen
