SoSe 24: Stochastic Processes and Reaction Rate Theory
Marcus Weber, Luca Donati
Kommentar
Reaction rate theory is the study of the kinetic properties of natural phenomena that can be modelled as stochastic processes and is fundamental in many disciplines ranging from physics, chemistry, biology, and economics.
This seminar will review the state-of-the-art of methods used to calculate reaction rates.
Practical sessions will be held during the seminar where students will have the opportunity to implement the methods presented during the seminar.
Preliminary topics and methods of the course:
-
Arrhenius theory
-
Kramers theory
-
Langer’s theory
-
PCCA+
-
Square Root Approximation (SqRA) of the Infinitesimal Generator
-
Invariant Subspaces of the Koopman Operator by Artificial Neural Network
