Kommentar
The dynamics of electrons on the nanoscopic scale is of central importance for future quantum technologies. The understanding of these dynamics is an important basis for quantum engineering. In this lecture, we will systematically develop the necessary physical skills from an experimentalists point of view. Our first step will be to study mesoscopic transport in technologically important semiconductor structures with a focus on classical and quantum mechanical transport phenomena. Then, we will explore the quantum dynamics of localized electrons up to that of coupled quantum bits. While this is an experimental lecture, it will make use of theoretical approaches necessary to understand the groundbreaking experiments.
