Research in the future will be data-driven and based on artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. We start laying foundation for this by making sure our research data in annotated with metadata describing it and deposited in a machine-readable way – that makes data FAIR as in Findable and AI Ready. This course will cover general aspects of research data management like data management plan, minimum information standards, or sustainable storage of research data (file formats, storage media etc.). We will talk about electronic lab notebooks and lab information and management systems and introduce repositories for research data. Later we will touch more advanced topics like semantic data annotation and ontologies. close
