Khanna Usoyan

Comments

In the seminar Iranian-speaking Religious Minorities participants will get the general information of the various religious milieus flourishing beyond the Islamic mainstream. During the seminar it will also be discussed how the religious minority groups operate within the Iranian-speaking regions, which themselves have been subject to numerous conflicts and social as well as political transformations at the turn of the 21st century. Besides the general information about various religious communities, recent developments affecting these communities will be discussed. Among the groups studied are the (neo-)Zoroastrians, Yarisan/Kaka’is (often reffered as Ahl-e Haqq), Yezidis, Alevis, Sufi traditions, Shabaks, Mandaeans, as well as the Jewish and Christian communities. close
