The service sector in the USA: We analyze concepts, strategies and problems of the service sector. So, in this seminar, the topic is examined in various ways; yet setting the focus on a sociological perspective. ----- For this purpose, initially there will be a study of relevant theories of service and theories of consumption, e.g. market segmentation. ----- Furthermore, it follows an analysis of specific service phenomena, e.g. workforce management or McDonaldization. In addition, appropriate practical examples, case studies and analyzes are discussed in the seminar. ----- A comprehensive, critical examination – including an outlook on future developments – forms the conclusion of this seminar. close
