In this practical seminar, we will explore how the voice acts as an interface between two entities and thereby produces relations. We will work with scores and technical setups to investigate the relation between oneself and one’s own voice. We will experiment with different theatrical formats to put our voices in relation. We will speak to artificial voices as conversation partners. We will discuss the affective outcomes of each of these relational setups, and if these have the potential to transform the person(s) involved. To conclude, we will use our insights to speculate on possible futures and who we may become. Throughout the seminar you are expected to engage creatively with theatrical and choreographic means, produce scores and text, learn to work with technical tools, and be open to try and contribute to each other’s proposals.
