SoSe 23: Reading Course: International Order
Mariam Salehi
Comments
In this course we are going to read current books on 'International Order' that look at questions of order (formation), conflict, hierarchy, sovereignty, etc. from different, historically grounded perspectives: Zarakol 'Before the West' (orders from the 'East'), Yao 'The Ideal River' (nature and order), Getachew 'Worldmaking after Empire' (post-/anticolonial order), and Srivastava 'Hybrid Sovereignty' (order between public and private). Next to in-depth discussions about the texts, we will also practice text formats, such as book reviews, and explore other options to engage with the writings (e.g. through podcasts, discussions, etc.). close
