Contents:
Introduction to current research topics in the field of herbivore ecology. Nutritive value of plants for herbivores; nutritive value of insects for plants (carnivorous plants), plant defences against herbivory (constitutive, induced, primed); microbes as hidden players of plant – herbivore interactions, adaptations of herbivores to plant defences (how to cope with plant toxins?), co-evolutionary aspects of plant – herbivore interactions. Qualification objectives:
Students will gain knowledge in the field of plant – animal interactions, especially the ecology of these interactions. This knowledge will provide an excellent basis for further qualification in the field of "Ecological Science" and/or "Plant Science". . close
