Introduction to current research topics in the field of herbivore ecology. Students will choose a research topic from a list of suggested topics ranging from the impact of climate change on plant – insect interactions, urbanisation and its impact of plant – herbivore interactions to symbionts of herbivorous insects and to glyphosate, a widespread herbicide, etc. We will practise to collect scientific publications addressing the respective topics, to critically discuss the publications and gaps in knowledge, to present a research topic via a short ppt-presentation. Qualification objectives:
Students will gain knowledge about current research topics in the field of herbivore ecology. The students will learn to critically discuss a topic and to present scientific results and interpretations in a comprehensible manner.
