Seminar
SoSe 23: Space and Arabic Literature
Ruben Schenzle
Comments
In this course, we will examine space as a social, historical, mental, geographical as well as narrative construct on the basis of modern works of Arabic literature. In this context, cultural studies theory not only provides a framework for analyzing space in Arabic literature, but also provides an opportunity to reflect on the question of "Arabic literature in different spaces": how is Arabic literature negotiated and treated in different places?
Part of the course is a project in cooperation with the Zentrale Landesbibliothek Berlin (ZLB) including a presentation of the results in the Amerika-Gedenkbibliothek. close
