Ruben Schenzle
Comments
The course offers an introduction to the history of the Qur'an and the scholarly study of its texts. Special emphasis is placed on historical-critical hermeneutical approaches by both Muslim and Western scholars. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to analyze individual suras for stylistic features, literary forms, and developments in content, and to place the texts of the Qur'an in debates of its historical and theological context. close
