SoSe 23: Arabic in its varieties: from classical poetry to oral literature

The course is open to students of all programs and universities, provided that the language requirements are met. The language of instruction is Arabic. German and/or English will be used for translation. close
Additional information / Pre-requisites
Successful completion of the module "Arabic IV" (Arabicum) or knowledge of Arabic at level B2/C1.
Comments
This course aims at helping students develop their language skills through selected texts and audiovisual media of different provenance. In order to familiarize them with a broad range of characteristics of Arabic, texts from different historical and geographical contexts will be read (or listened to) and analyzed, thus enhancing the students' reading, listening and translation skills as well as their grammatical knowledge. Weekly (group) assignments, such as text productions and short presentations, will also improve oral and written expression. close
