SoSe 23: Introduction to field archaeology/Preservation of archaeological sites and ancient monuments

The course is compulsory for all students applying for training excavations and field internships. It alternates with an introduction into topics of the cultural heritage management in the state of Brandenburg. The introduction to field archaeology covers different techniques of field research such as geophysical prospection, remote sensing, fieldwalking and excavation. Different excavation strategies as well as objectives, standards and methods of field documentation are major topics of the course. close
