Comments
The Qur´an is a complicated matter, since it is a religious text
that guarantees cohesion of a community. In Western societies, many
consider it as a powerful book at least „Das mächtigste Buch der Welt“,
Der Spiegel).
In this course, the aim is to put the Holy Bokk into ist Late
Antique/Byzantine context. This means „text and context“. We will rely on
methods like intertextuality and liturgical performance.
