Maximilian Klose, Sönke Kunkel

Comments

What is international history, how do we study foreign relations, and what comprises diplomacy? This theory-based seminar introduces students to the most important developments and approaches in studying the history of US relations with the outside world. We will cover a broad spectrum of topics from national security and border protection to gender, memory, and the role of emotions in foreign relations. In their final papers, students will get the opportunity to apply one or several of those approaches to cases of their choice to develop their own research profile in US international history. close
