Content: This seminar offers an introduction to the theory and practice of designing and carrying out case study research in area studies. In early seminars we will explore research methods commonly used by researchers investigating social and political topics. We then turn to an in-depth exploration of case study approaches. Working closely with the instructor, students will design and carry out a case study-based research project. The language of instruction is English.
Learning objectives:
To introduce the theory behind case study approaches
To develop skills for using case study methods in area studies research
