The research project aims at tackling state-of-the-art modeling and algorithmic challenges for Future Mobility Applications (FMAs). It does so by combining concepts from three disciplines: Vehicle Routing Problem, Computational Social Choice (Computer Science + Economics + Game Theory), and Ethics. During the project, the students will put their hands on a state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence project where they will get to know methods from these areas. Thus, they will develop, design, and implement algorithms, as well as simulate experiments.
The project is designed for master's students, and advanced bachelor's students from the university programs in computer science, mathematics, economics, computer engineering, logic, statistics, and philosophy at Freie Universität Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and Charité (i.e. the BUA). Prior language knowledge is English. Prior skills in mathematics, complexity, statistics, OR ethics are recommended. Good programming skills (C++, Java, Python) are advantageous. At the end of the semester, the students will submit a scientific report, write a scientific review, give a talk, and prepare a poster with their results. There is the possibility of conference participation.
The first meeting is in Zoom (link via email) on 17.10.2022 when further content and organizational details will be discussed.
