Comments
Content-wise, the sessions are held in a blended format of discussions, input and student writing time. We will familiarize you with the technicalities of writing a BA thesis (supervisors, deadlines, etc.), criteria of good scientific practice and the ethical aspects of research as well as basic techniques of scientific writing such as the correct use of citations and the referencing of sources. We will also provide your with a brief introduction to Endnote and the electronic resources provided by Freie Universität’s library system.
There will be time to discuss your own research ideas for the BA thesis in small groups and we will facilitate the process of working on your research question, the research design, a draft literature review and a draft introduction. At the end of the colloquium you will present your project idea and there will also be a discussion and Q&A with a faculty member of the discipline in which you will write your thesis.
