WiSe 23/24: Queer Studies in the House of Anthropology
Vinicius Pedro Correia Zanoli
Comments
Although debates in gender and sexuality have become increasingly heated, queer studies have developed and expanded as an interdisciplinary field, including social and cultural anthropology.
Apart from offering an introduction to interdisciplinary debates on queer and gender studies, in this seminar we will focus on anthropological and ethnographic works on gender and sexuality, exploring anthropological contributions to this interdisciplinary field. We will ask how queer studies have incorporated anthropological findings and debates. We will also pay particular attention to how queer studies intersect with gender and critical race studies.
