Comments

This course aims to convey the basic research methods and practices required for doing a degree in the field of Iranian Studies. To support the students in their preparation of presentations, essays and BA/MA theses, the course will provide an overview of resouces, research tools and practical conventions common in the field. We are going to analyse selected research articles to learn from their authors' approaches and methods. There will also be time to train some of the general skills needed for scientific writing, such as structuring and formatting an essay and researching and organising secondary literature. The participants are invited to bring up any research-related questions and problems as they emerge during the semester. The course takes place once every two weeks. It is designed for students of the BA "Geschichte und Kultur des Vorderen Orients" with a focus Iranian Studies, but students of the MA Iranian Studies are also welcome. close
