Qualifikation goals: Students can identify important open questions from the primary and secondary literature, define them precisely and formulate them in a well-founded manner. They can elaborate the questions in a stringent experimental research plan and fill the individual components of a hypothesis-based research project with context-related content. They can constructively criticize the content of research projects and the rationale for questions and experimental approaches.
Contents: Students work individually under the personal supervision of university lecturers. Students are given an overview of the essential components of a third-party funding application. Students use primary and secondary literature to identify open questions in a defined current field of research. They give a presentation in which this question is presented with background information and an approach to answering it. The presentation forms the basis for the research concept to be developed in 216881b.

Content:
  • Overview of funding schemes
  • Contents of a grant proposal
  • Literature search
  • Conceptualizing a scientific project
  • Presentation of a research topic
