Developmental Psychology - Seminar

Herbert Scheithauer

Information for students

Seminar title: “Classics of developmental psychology - a contemporary and critical view” The seminar will take a critical look at classic studies and findings in developmental psychology against the background of current findings and (new) interpretations, because no study or experiment is perfect! How have classical studies, experiments etc. advanced the field of developmental psychology? And are there contemporary findings that shed new light on the results once obtained and their interpretation? close

Additional information / Pre-requisites

The seminar is a blended learning seminar designed according to the inverted classroom method. This means a mixture of physical presence on site (in the seminar room) and online learning phases for all students, whereby presence and self-study phases alternate. The self-study phases can also include online attendance dates. This means that some seminar dates take place in simultaneous (synchronous) presence - in the seminar room - some dates may take place synchronously (via Webex), while on other dates the lecturer and students, who will work together in thematic working groups, make materials available in advance in Blackboard, which the students work on independently, asynchronously. These topics will then be revisited and explored in greater depth in the subsequent face-to-face sessions. The seminar concept will be presented in more detail by the professor at the first in-person event - the presence of students who have planned to attend this seminar is urgently required! All students must also have the appropriate equipment (e.g. the ability to dial into Webex with a camera) to be able to follow the seminar! close
