Comments
The module explores foundational archaeological method and practice using case studies from different cultural and archaeological contexts around the globe, from the Americas to Africa, Asia, and beyond. Students will explore foundational topics such as creating relative and absolute chronologies, multi-proxy data syntheses; and the utilization of various subfield techniques and toolkits (ex. biomolecular archaeology, environmental archaeology, landscape archaeology). The module introduces several different topics, current global narrative shifts, and cutting-edge archaeological practice aiming at giving students a current and common ground conducive to discussion, and as entries points for the remainder of their degree. close
