Comments
The course is designed for students with a background in social sciences and humanities, who want to develop their skills in quantitative data analysis. The class serves as an introduction into the application of quantitative methods for social and political sciences, with a focus on area studies-related topics. We will address in particular the application of the regression analysis in social science research, the underlying assumptions and research boundaries. The class will consist of two parts. In the first lecture block, we will discuss the necessary concepts and methods for the practical application of the quantitative methods. In the second part, we will jointly look at the practical application of quantitative methods using actual empirical data and different statistical software.
