Robin Celikates
Comments
How to conceptualize antisemitism, racism, and the relation between antisemitism and (other) racism(s) in light of their historical and present trajectories and entanglements, is a contested topic in a series of fields, from history and sociology to philosophy. In this seminar, we will explore this complex and contested relation by engaging with both classical and contemporary contributions from a philosophical and socio-theoretical perspective. Readings will include texts by Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer, Hannah Arendt, Jean-Paul Sartre, Moishe Postone, W.E.B. Du Bois, Frantz Fanon, James Baldwin, and Charles Mills.
