Artificial Neural Networks in Cognitive Neuroscience

Adrien Doerig

Comments

Artificial neural networks (ANNs) inspired by biology are beginning to be widely used to model behavioural and neural data. In this course, we will discuss how artificial neural networks can be as a computational language for expressing falsifiable theories about brain computation, and debate the pros and cons of this approach. We will implement ANNs in python code, and use encoding models and Representational Similarity Analysis to quantify the match of these ANNs to neuroimaging data. Evaluation will be in the form of a coding project.
