The goal of the project is to take a closer look at commonly believed misconceptions about the brain. Following our finding the students will create exhibition pieces showing off the reasons why they are misconceptions.

Students will learn to navigate the environment between science and popular belief and how scientific communication can play a role in the latter. They will see how to extract brains from MR images, use state of the art pipelines of neuroscience research transforming them into a printable 3D-model, enabling them to print their own brain. Students are encouraged to sketch, 3D-print and program their way through ideas and concepts to refine the final piece.

This course aims at creative Master students with a background in neuroscience and a basic understanding of data processing. Students not fitting these criteria are encouraged to participate if they have prior experience with reading scientific research, programming, robotics or 3D-modelling.
