- Project Funding / Flexible Funds: Funding to generate and establish new collaborative research and teaching projects (e.g. COIL) with universities and non-university research institutions worldwide and additional support for conferences at Freie Universität Berlin which are mainly financed through third-party funds
Bilateral and Multilateral Funding with Strategic Partners
- Una Europa Starter Fund: Funds for the development of cooperation projects with partners in the university alliance Una Europa
- Joint Seed Funding with Hebrew University of Jerusalem: Support of new cooperative projects on the basis of matching funds. Calls change between seed funding for research projects and joint online couses
- University of Zurich UZH Global Strategy and Partnerships Funding Scheme: The funding scheme is open to joint collaboration initiatives with specific partner universities of the University of Zurich including Freie Universität Berlin
- FAPESP (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo): Giving researchers from FU Berlin the opportunity to develop project proposals together with researchers from universities or institutions from the state of São Paulo.
