Provisional number of scholarships available in funding year 2024/2025 (as of August, 2024, subject to change):
Our private donors that pledge 50% of the funding of each scholarship can earmark their funds for specific degree programs or areas of study: these are so-called subject specific scholarships. However, in addition to that, there are also non-subject specific scholarships available that are open to all students regardless of the degree program in which they are enrolled.
In the 2024/2025 funding year, about 60 new scholarships will be awarded, both non-subject specific and subject specific, in all departments of Freie Universität Berlin.
Do I have to indicate in the application whether I want to apply for a subject specific or non-subject specific scholarship?
No, you do not have to specify. If subject specific scholarships are available for your degree program, we will automatically consider you for those in the first place. If you are not selected for one of the subject specific scholarships, we will still consider your application for a non-subject specific scholarship.
