The Student Network for Open Science is the first student-based open science journal, course platform, think tank and research hub for health and life sciences in German-speaking countries and has been supported by funding from the Berlin University Alliance for three years.

With the aim of helping to shape a new, interdisciplinary, inclusive, society-oriented and open scientific practice and attracting students and doctoral candidates, student research is published in its own journal, peer review and good scientific practice are taught in self-developed courses, workshops, symposia and seminar series on the topic of Open Science are organized and, more recently, metascience issues have also been researched.
