In June and July 2023, over 2,000 employees participated in an online survey regarding future work arrangements at Freie Universität Berlin. The survey was designed to determine what kind of changes employees at Freie Universität Berlin would specifically like to see in their work arrangements, particularly in terms of increasing the flexibility of their working hours and workplace, as well as their requirements and concerns if such changes were to take place.

Taking part in the questionnaire was optional and technical measures ensured that answers remained anonymous. The results of this survey will now be used in discussions with staff representatives for the purpose of amending existing employment agreements on when and where Freie Universität employees carry out their work, or for the purpose of creating new agreements.
