If printers and printer accessories are to be disposed of, please first contact the IT representative of your department or institution to clarify whether the device should be returned to ZEDAT or recycled as old electrical equipment.

For the collection of old electrical equipment as well as electrical and electronic waste, there are collection points in many buildings, which you can find out from your janitor or your IT representative.

If you are unable to find out where to drop off old electrical equipment in your area, please contact the Sustainability & Energy Office, Special Waste Disposal Team.

ATTENTION:

• For printers, please remove the toner cartridges and dispose of them separately. For details, see Toner Cartridges.

• Before disposing of a device, please check whether an application for segregation must be submitted to the asset accounting department of Freie Universität Berlin and, if necessary, also arrange for de-inventorying at ZEDAT.
