For furniture that is no longer needed, further use should always be considered first. There are two important facilities at Freie Universität Berlin for this purpose:

The furniture warehouse, where preferably standard university furniture is stored temporarily to be used again elsewhere, and the FUndgrube, the intranet-based central marketplace for the re-use of furniture and objects.
