Radioactive waste
>>> Special disposal via the Sustainability & Energy Unit
The disposal of radioactive waste from approved radiation protection areas is always handled by the Sustainability & Energy Unit, Special Waste Team.
The same applies to the disposal of scientific equipment in which a radioactive source is installed.
Radioactive waste may also include chemicals purchased for chemical-preparative purposes for electron microscopy, e.g. uranyl acetate. These compounds should also be disposed of as radioactive waste rather than as chemical waste.
