1. Citizens of an EU member state (including Germany) as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and applicants with a German university entrance qualification or German university degree*

Please apply for the degree programs pharmacy and veterinary medicine in the first semester via Hochschulstart. Please note the information provided on the Hochschulstart websites.

Applications for the higher semester have to be submitted via the application portal of the FU. In case of an application with a non-German university entrance qualification, a VPD needs to be acquired via uni-assist before applying in the application portal of Freie Universität Berlin.

Study aptitude tests

Study aptitude tests are offered for both veterinary medicine and pharmacy applications for the first semester. Participation in these tests is voluntary and subject to a fee. It is also possible to apply without taking the test.

Application with professional qualifications

Prospective students who are interested in studying without Abitur and who are professionally qualified can, under certain conditions, apply to study pharmacy and veterinary medicine at Freie Universität Berlin. Please inform yourself about the procedure on our websites.

Please note that after receiving an admission through Hochschulstart, applicants must prove that they have the required German language skills before they can enroll at Freie Universität Berlin.

2. Applicants without EU/EEA citizenship

Applicants without EU/EEA citizenship and without German university entrance qualification for the degree programs pharmacy and veterinary medicine for the first and higher semester apply for a VPD via uni-assist first before making an application in the application portal of Freie Universität Berlin.
